Ivanovic beats Hantuchova to win Fortis Championships

LUXEMBOURG: Second-seeded Ana Ivanovic of Serbia won the Fortis Championships on Sunday, beating Daniela Hantuchova of Slovakia 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 in the final.

At this year's French Open, the 19-year-old Ivanovic became the first Serbian woman to reach a Grand Slam final since Monica Seles — who became a U.S. citizen at the peak of her career in the 1990s.

Hearts beats St Mirren 3-1 to boost flagging start to Scottish Premier League season

GLASGOW, Scotland: Hearts won 3-1 at St Mirren on Sunday to boost its flagging start to the Scottish Premier League season.

Hearts, which finished fourth last season and second the year before, won in Paisley through goals by Andrew Driver, Michael Stewart and Andrius Velicka.
